The role

Reporting to: Senior Data Selections Manager

The Data & Selections team is responsible for the production of mail files and system update files for direct mail, telephone and email marketing campaigns. The team is split into three sub-teams:

Acquisition: Building campaigns to acquire new business, Joint Venture (JV) and Partner & Affinities (P&A) accounts using the Campaign Elements software.

Back Book: Using Affinium software to complete campaign selections campaigns for, JV and P&A existing customers.

Re-pricing & Delivery: Concentrating on Re-pricing campaigns for existing accounts, as well as other projects for both Back Book & Acquisition.

This role is to manage the Repricing and Delivery.

• Run the Repricing & Delivery Data & Selections Team. • Complete marketing campaign selections based on Databriefs submitted by Campaign Managers within Marketing Department. • Interrogate databases using a range of cutting-edge marketing applications to provide mail file and system update files for campaigns. • Provide mail volumes to Campaign Managers, as well as recommendations on how to best target the customer base. • Keep to strict SLAs, whilst ensuring quality of data. • Develop Acquisition Infrastructure. • Develop improved methodology for campaign selections. • Lead with process re-engineering programs. • Develop good working relationships with the Marketing, Group Marketing, Retail IT, Risk, Decision Science & Business Change Departments, as well as with external third party companies.

Candidate requirements

• Significant experience of working with relational databases. • A thorough understanding of the Campaign Lifecycle from file input to mail file production. • Experience of campaign building software (e.g. Affinium, Campaign Elements) • Use of database logic (e.g. SQL, SAS). • Experience of Team Management. • Microsoft Office Suite – especially advanced Excel skills. • Excellent communication and influencing skills. • Analytical mindset. • Strong business acumen and commercial focus. • Strong supplier management skills for both external suppliers and internal customers • Strong planning and organisation skills. • The ability to manage independently, with initiative and to tight deadlines. • Ability to critically assess current process and apply robust measures for improvement. • Motivated by achieving results. • Quality champion. • Data screening and direct marketing experience. • Proactive approach to personal development.
